Klair Shepard faced the pressure of a medal round on Friday, March 15, at Cypress Hills, and she delivered a career‑best 39.
Shepard’s 39 beat Lauren Knepp’s 40 by a single stroke, setting the tone for the evening.
Rivet’s Kevi Black and Bela Pacheco followed with 41 and 43, while Madelyn Seitzinger and Nichole Kocher posted 50 and 53.
The Vikings walked away with the team title at 173; the Patriots were second at 187, Mater Diego 191, South Knox 196, Northeast Dubois 214, and Bloomfield 260.
"I’m so proud of all the girls. Bela tied her season‑best, and all three others had their best rounds tonight," Rivet coach Kayley Brian said.
"It was a really good match for us," South Knox coach Mark Gray noted. "We had Klair, Vanessa, and Eleanor all shoot career‑bests, and Katelyn and Maylin tied their season‑bests. It was a good match all around. We were getting up and down from the edge of the green in two. In fact, we had a couple of chips‑ins. That’s great for our confidence to know that we can get up‑and‑down in two shots, instead of three or sometimes more. I was very pleased with tonight."
